Ivory lines trace nested diamonds, zigzags and angled channels across a charcoal brown ground, building a dense geometric surface. Here and there the lines frame small dark squares and triangles, and a few pale cream patches near the center break the pattern in a deliberately irregular way. Some of the framed shapes are filled with solid black, others with streaky grey, so the surface reads in several layers of depth, a little like a hand-drawn map or a piece of carved wood.

Woven by hand in Turkey, the rug uses wool recovered from older kilims and rewoven into this graphic design. It measures 9'9" x 11'11" (296 x 362 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a flat profile that works under chairs and doors. It suits a living room, a dining area for six to eight or a primary bedroom. It weighs about 20 kg (44 lbs). Routine vacuuming without the beater brush and a damp cloth for spills keep it in good shape.
