10x14 Handwoven Black and Beige Maze Kilim Rug - 51724

Black and sand beige lock together across the whole surface of this flatweave in a dense labyrinth pattern, with short straight paths turning at right angles like a puzzle maze. There is no border or medallion, so the graphic pattern runs edge to edge and reads clearly from across the room. The beige paths are fairly uniform in width, while the black pockets between them vary in shape, from small squares to long corridors, and the warm sand tone softens what could otherwise be a stark contrast.

The rug was handwoven in Turkey from reclaimed wool taken from older kilims and rewoven into this bold modern design. It measures 10'3" x 14'0" (312 x 426 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a flat profile that keeps chairs moving smoothly. It is sized for a large living room, a dining area for eight or a spacious primary bedroom. It weighs about 25 kg (55 lbs). Vacuum it regularly on a setting without the spinning brush, and rotate it occasionally so both ends see the same traffic.

The high-contrast look belongs in modern, industrial, monochrome and contemporary spaces, and it pairs well with black metal, concrete and pale oak. A plain white or camel sofa lets the maze show at full strength. Strong, graphic and easy to build a room around.
