10x14 Handwoven Blue Diamond Kilim Rug - 51705

Two large blue panels fill this kilim, each crossed by an ivory lattice of fine lines that form tall diamonds and small arrowhead figures. Narrow bands with tiny ivory marks divide the panels and finish both ends, and the soft denim blue ground has a gently mottled look from the weave. The lattice lines are thin and widely spaced, so much of the blue shows through and the overall effect stays light and open.

It was handwoven in Turkey using wool reclaimed from older kilims, rewoven here into a light, linear design. The rug measures 10'3" x 13'7" (313 x 415 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a good size for a large living room, a king bedroom or a dining room for eight. It weighs about 25 kg (55 lbs). Its pile-free surface lets doors and chairs pass over it easily, and rotating it once a year evens out wear.

Fresh and understated, it suits coastal, Scandinavian, modern farmhouse and transitional interiors, and it pairs well with white walls and natural textures. Try it with a slipcovered white sofa, a jute basket or two and pale driftwood tones for a relaxed seaside feel. An easy, airy rug that brightens a large floor.
