Thin wavy lines in ivory, beige and grey ripple across a deep brown field, rising and falling gently from one side of the kilim to the other. The lines are spaced closely and vary slightly in color, so the surface looks like wood grain or wind on sand, with a calm, flowing movement. Between the brighter ivory waves sit finer lines in taupe and charcoal, which add depth, and the waves are slightly out of step with one another, so the pattern feels drawn by hand rather than printed.

Woven by hand in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims, it has been rewoven into this organic modern pattern. It measures 9'10" x 14'0" (300 x 426 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, sized for a large living room, a king bedroom or a dining space for eight. It weighs about 24 kg (53 lbs). The dark brown ground is forgiving of daily traffic, and an occasional vacuum without the beater bar plus a damp cloth for spills is all the upkeep it needs.
