10x14 Handwoven Grey Tree Pattern Kilim Rug - 51684

Neat rows of elongated hexagons march across a slate grey field, each outlined in ivory and holding a stylized tree, leaf or dotted figure. The hexagons are set in a staggered grid, so the eye moves easily across the rug, and fine striations in the grey ground add depth to an otherwise restrained two-tone palette. Some cells hold a single sprig, others a column of dots, so the repeat changes subtly as you look along each row.

This piece was handwoven in Turkey from wool salvaged from older kilims and rewoven into a contemporary repeat. At 10'4" x 13'9" (316 x 420 cm) and about 5 mm thick, it covers a large living room, fits under a dining table for eight, or anchors a king bedroom. It weighs about 25 kg (55 lbs). Spot clean spills with a damp cloth and rotate the rug once or twice a year so wear stays even.

The cool grey and ivory combination sits comfortably in Scandinavian, modern farmhouse, Japandi and transitional homes, and the botanical motifs soften cleaner, more minimal rooms. It pairs well with whitewashed wood, sage green textiles and simple pottery. A calm pattern with a hint of nature in it.
