10x14 Handwoven Multicolor Abstract Kilim Rug - 51806

Wavy stripes of brick red, cream, navy and sky blue flow across this kilim like layers in a sunset or a river. The red tones gather toward one end, a band of deep navy sits toward the other, and the lines thicken, thin and overlap as they move. Short fringe is visible at the top edge. Small flecks of pale blue and pink appear among the cream bands, which softens the strong reds and blues.

It was made by hand in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims and rewoven into this abstract design. The rug measures 10'1" x 14'1" (308 x 430 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, so it lies flat and is easy to reposition. It suits a large living room, beneath a dining table for eight or across a king bedroom. It weighs about 25 kg (55 lbs). With no pile to trap crumbs, it is easy to keep clean under a table, and a pad stops it from sliding.

Its bold colors work in eclectic, bohemian, coastal and modern rooms, and it ties together red and blue accents. A cream sofa with navy and terracotta cushions, plus some natural wood, would let the waves carry the room. An expressive rug with a lot of movement.
