10x14 Handwoven Multicolor Geometric Kilim Rug - 51700

Horizontal bands of rust, coral, olive and slate blue alternate down the length of this kilim, each filled with small interlocking geometric motifs that link together like a chain. Faint vertical lines divide the field into columns, and the colors blend softly from one band to the next, giving the rug a warm, slightly faded look. The motifs are small and closely spaced, so from a distance the rug reads as soft color bands, and the detail only appears up close.

It was woven by hand in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims, rewoven into this banded geometric layout. At 10'1" x 14'3" (308 x 434 cm) and roughly 5 mm thick, it is sized for a large living room, a great room or under a dining table for eight. It weighs about 25 kg (55 lbs). Its flat weave lets dining chairs slide easily, and spot cleaning with a damp cloth handles most small spills.

The warm, earthy colors fit bohemian, eclectic, southwestern and modern rustic interiors, and they pair nicely with terracotta, leather and plants. An olive green sofa or rust linen curtains would tie the room into its palette. A rich, inviting rug for a lived-in room.
