Rows of soft, flame-like diamond shapes ripple across this flatweave in sand, teal, denim blue, rust, brick red and brown. The colors shift from row to row and blur slightly where they meet, so the pattern moves like water or heat haze rather than sitting in a rigid grid. Light beige ground shows through between the waves. The shapes are small and closely packed, with teal and blue clustering in some areas and warmer reds gathering in others, which gives the surface a gentle drift of color.

Woven by hand in Turkey, it was made from wool reclaimed from older kilims and rewoven into this contemporary design. The rug measures 9'9" x 13'11" (298 x 425 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a low profile that is easy to move and clean around. Use it in a large living room, under a dining table for eight or in a roomy bedroom. It weighs about 24 kg (53 lbs), and since there is no pile, chairs glide across it without snagging.

The many colors help it tie together boho, eclectic, mid-century and relaxed modern rooms. It hides everyday wear well and brings gentle movement to a large floor. Rattan, terracotta pots and a sofa in sand or rust would draw out its warmer threads.
