10x14 Handwoven Yellow Greek Key Kilim Rug - 51771

A warm golden yellow field fills the center, scattered with tiny dark dots, and down its middle runs a column of six small square motifs outlined in brown with touches of red and green. Around it sits a wide ivory border worked with a bold brown Greek key, or meander, framed by a thin stepped outline. Small green star shapes sit inside the turns of the meander, adding a light, regular accent all the way around. The design feels structured and classic.

The kilim was woven by hand in Turkey using wool reclaimed from older pieces and rewoven into this layout. It measures 10'2" x 13'7" (310 x 415 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, slim enough to sit under doors and furniture. It is sized for a large living room, a dining room with a table for eight or a king bedroom. The rug weighs about 24 kg (53 lbs). Spot clean small spills with a damp cloth and rotate it now and then so the gold field fades evenly.

The bordered design suits traditional, transitional, Mediterranean and eclectic interiors, and the yellow brightens rooms with brown leather or dark wood. Centered under a rectangular dining table, the border neatly frames the chairs and the column of squares lines up with the tabletop. A warm, framed rug that anchors a room nicely.
