12x15 Handwoven Black Maze Pattern Kilim Rug - 51712

An all-over maze of interlocking lines covers this kilim, with beige paths twisting and turning through a black ground in a pattern of hooks, T-shapes and right angles. There is no center or border, just an endless fret-like puzzle that reads as bold texture from across the room and rewards closer inspection. The beige and black are close to equal in weight, so the eye flips between seeing pale lines on dark and dark shapes on pale, and the slightly uneven hand-woven lines keep the geometry from feeling mechanical.

The rug was handwoven in Turkey using wool reclaimed from older kilims, rewoven into this graphic contemporary layout. It measures 12'1" x 14'10" (368 x 453 cm) and is roughly 5 mm thick, sized for great rooms, open-plan spaces and large dining rooms. At about 32 kg (71 lbs), it is a substantial piece. The flat, pile-free surface means furniture sits level on it, and spot cleaning with a damp cloth handles most everyday spills.

The black and beige contrast makes a striking base for modern, industrial, art deco and monochrome interiors, and it pairs well with leather, brass and smoked glass.
