4x6 Handwoven Beige Chevron Kilim Rug - 51669

Bold chocolate brown chevrons march up a cream ground in this kilim, each zigzag edged with small stepped notches that give the lines a hand-drawn, tribal character. The strong two-color contrast keeps the pattern crisp, and short fringe finishes both ends. The chevrons all point the same way and are spaced evenly, so the rug has a clear direction, and the brown varies slightly from band to band.

It was handwoven in Turkey from wool recovered from older kilims, then rewoven into this modern design. The rug measures 4'2" x 6'2" (126 x 188 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a handy size for an entryway, a reading nook, beside a bed or in front of a fireplace. It weighs about 5 kg (11 lbs). A rug pad keeps it from sliding on polished floors, and regular light vacuuming keeps the cream ground fresh.

The chevron pattern fits boho, modern rustic, mid-century and Scandinavian rooms and adds movement to small spaces. Placed in a hallway with the chevrons pointing inward, it draws the eye into the room, and it sits well next to dark wood, cane and cream wool.
