A wide sand-colored frame surrounds a dark brown center panel crossed by thin ivory stripes, giving this kilim the look of a framed print. The proportions are generous and calm, and the plain border lets the striped panel stand out without competing with it. The stripes are evenly spaced across the panel, and fine horizontal lines in the sand border add a quiet texture that only shows up close.
It was woven by hand in Turkey using wool recovered from vintage kilims and rewoven into a new design. At 4'10" x 6'5" (148 x 196 cm) and around 5 mm thick, it fits nicely under a small coffee table, beside a bed or in a study. At about 6 kg (13 lbs) it is easy to lift and reposition, and vacuuming without the rotating brush keeps the flat surface looking neat.
The neutral tones and crisp layout suit modern, minimalist and Japandi spaces, and it pairs well with dark wood and simple lines. Centered under a low table, the dark panel creates a natural frame for the furniture, and stone, linen and matte black accents complete the look. Understated, handmade and easy to live with.
