5x7 Handwoven Brown and Grey Striped Kilim Rug - 51735

Very fine horizontal stripes of earthy brown, olive grey and charcoal give this rug a soft heathered look. A few lighter lines run across the field at irregular intervals, adding just enough movement to keep the surface from looking flat. Seen as a whole, it reads as a muted greyish brown with a slightly darker frame along the edges, and the color shifts gently from one end to the other, much like weathered timber or slate.

It was handwoven in Turkey from wool salvaged from older kilims and rewoven into this understated striped design. It measures 5'1" x 6'10" (155 x 208 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, light enough to move around and flat enough for door clearance. Use it in a bedroom, a home office, a smaller living room or in front of a sofa. At about 6 kg (13 lbs), it is easy to lift for a shake out, and a non-slip pad keeps it in place on smooth floors.

The muted tones suit modern, Japandi, industrial and minimalist rooms, and they sit well with linen, concrete and dark wood. Its heathered surface is forgiving of everyday traffic. Place it beside a bed with a black metal frame, or under a desk with a leather chair. A quiet, practical rug that lets the furniture do the talking.
