Raindrop shapes in orange, mustard and blue-grey are arranged in neat rows across an ivory ground, some woven solid and others filled with fine stripes. The repeat feels playful and retro, and the soft palette keeps it easy on the eye. The drops point downward and are packed closely together, and the striped ones in blue-grey break up the warmer solids so no single color dominates.

It was handwoven in Turkey from wool salvaged from vintage kilims and rewoven into this modern pattern. At 5'8" x 7'11" (173 x 241 cm) and about 5 mm thick, it is a flexible size for a living room, a bedroom or a playroom. It weighs about 8 kg (18 lbs). With no pile, it is comfortable for play on the floor and easy to keep tidy, and a rug pad underneath stops it from shifting during busy days.

The cheerful design suits Scandinavian, mid-century and eclectic interiors, and it adds a light touch of color to neutral rooms. Light birch furniture, white shelving and a burnt orange throw would pick up its tones without overwhelming it. A fun, one-of-a-kind piece.
