Three vertical panels sit side by side in this kilim, each filled with horizontal bands of sand, pale sage green and soft blue-grey. Because the bands in each panel are slightly offset from their neighbors, the pattern gains a gentle stepped movement, like light on water. The colors are muted and close in tone, so the effect stays calm. A narrow plain edge frames the whole field, and the bands are fine enough that from a distance the rug reads as a soft, even texture.

Handwoven in Turkey from reclaimed wool taken from vintage kilims, it measures 6'2" x 9'2" (188 x 280 cm) with a thin 5 mm profile.
