7x10 Handwoven Rust Red Solid Kilim Rug - 51678

A muted rust-red covers this kilim from edge to edge, with only the fine texture of the weave and gentle tonal shifts to break the field. It is a deliberately simple rug, the kind that adds warmth and color to a room without adding pattern. Up close, the red is woven with faint darker and lighter rows that give the surface a soft, almost corduroy-like grain, and the edges are finished plainly so nothing distracts from the color.

It was handwoven in Turkey using wool recovered from vintage kilims and rewoven into this solid design. At 6'10" x 9'9" (208 x 297 cm) and about 5 mm thick, it fits a full living room seating group, a large dining table or a king bedroom. It weighs about 12 kg (26 lbs). Being a flatweave with no pile, it lets dining chairs pull out smoothly, and turning it around once or twice a year keeps wear and sun fading even.

The solid look suits modern, minimalist, industrial and transitional spaces and works as a calm base for patterned furniture and art. It looks especially good with cream or tobacco upholstery, terracotta pots and blackened steel, and it warms up concrete or pale stone floors. Simple, warm and handmade.
