7x8 Handwoven Red Panel Kilim Rug - 51677

Two wide panels of shaded rust and berry red sit side by side in this kilim, divided and framed by golden mustard bands. The red shifts in tone throughout, creating soft horizontal streaks that give the surface a warm, glowing depth. The mustard frame is itself lightly streaked, and the narrow center band runs the full length of the rug, splitting the field into two almost equal halves.

Handwoven in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims, it measures 6'8" x 7'11" (204 x 241 cm) and is about 5 mm thick. Its nearly square shape works well under a round or square dining table, in a sitting room or in a bedroom. At about 9 kg (20 lbs) it rolls up easily for moving, and a non-slip underlay will keep the corners flat and in place on hard floors.
