Fine stripes in beige, taupe and grey run across both ends and the sides of this kilim, framing a softer central panel. In the center the stripes break apart into a loose, abstract pattern of feathery marks in ivory and light brown, like brushstrokes or reflections on water. The palette stays natural and calm throughout. The central panel is long and slightly off-center, and its edges fade gradually into the surrounding stripes rather than stopping at a hard line.

Woven by hand in Turkey, the rug uses wool salvaged from older kilims and rewoven into this design. It measures 8'2" x 11'7" (248 x 354 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, slim enough to lie flat under doors and chairs. It fits a living room, a dining area with a table for six or a main bedroom. It weighs about 17 kg (37 lbs). A thin rug pad gives it a little grip, and a gentle vacuum keeps the pale wool fresh.

Its soft neutrals suit Japandi, wabi-sabi, Scandinavian and organic modern interiors and sit well with linen, rattan and pale wood. Under a low platform sofa with stone or ceramic accents, it adds quiet movement without competing. A subtle rug with a gentle artistic touch.
