Five wide vertical panels in sand, taupe, light stone and soft brown divide this rug into calm blocks of color. Each panel is streaked with fine horizontal lines in related shades, and one short dark brown bar near the lower right adds a small, deliberate break in the pattern. The palest panel sits right of center, and the two darker taupe panels flank it, so the light seems to fall across the middle of the rug, while the streaks give every panel a soft, linen-like texture.
It was woven by hand in Turkey from reclaimed wool taken from older kilims and rewoven into this minimal color block design. It measures 9'0" x 11'6" (275 x 350 cm) and is about 5 mm thick. Use it in a living room, a dining area for six to eight or a primary bedroom. It weighs about 18 kg (40 lbs). Without pile, it lies low enough for doors to swing over, and a pad underneath adds a little cushioning and grip.
The quiet neutrals suit Japandi, Scandinavian, minimalist and modern rustic spaces, and they complement linen, pale wood and stone. Its streaked panels are also forgiving of everyday wear. Set under a low oak bed or a simple bouclé sofa, it adds warmth without drawing attention. An understated rug that adds texture rather than pattern.
