Soft panels of olive, sand, khaki and light beige are arranged in a loose grid across this kilim. Each panel carries fine horizontal stripes, and the colors shift only slightly from one to the next, so the patchwork is subtle and calm rather than busy. A narrow pale edge runs along the sides. The panels are tall rectangles, about four across, and their lighter and darker tones form a faint checkerboard when seen from a distance.
It was handwoven in Turkey from wool salvaged from older kilims and rewoven into this patchwork layout.
