9x12 Handwoven Beige and Grey Chevron Kilim Rug - 51790

Bold charcoal grey chevrons repeat in tight rows down a light beige ground, pointing in the same direction along the length of the rug. The zigzags are clean and evenly spaced, and slight variations in the grey wool soften the graphic effect just enough. The pattern runs edge to edge without a border. The grey and beige bands are close to equal in width, so the chevrons read as a steady, balanced rhythm rather than dark lines on a light ground.

It was made by hand in Turkey from wool salvaged from older kilims, then rewoven into this chevron layout. The rug measures 8'11" x 11'10" (272 x 360 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a low profile that keeps it easy to handle. It suits a living room, a dining room with a table for six to eight or a main bedroom. It weighs about 19 kg (42 lbs). Rotate it every so often and vacuum without a beater bar to keep the zigzags looking sharp.

The grey and beige palette sits comfortably in modern, Scandinavian, transitional and coastal rooms. Laid lengthwise in a hallway-like living space, the chevrons lead the eye through the room, and charcoal or oatmeal upholstery keeps the scheme cohesive.
