Stylized tree and hook motifs stand in loose rows across a light beige field, each drawn in deep red, rust, burgundy, pale blue or gold. The shapes vary slightly in color and placement, and narrow stepped edges in red and rust run along the long sides. Each motif is built from a slim central stem with paired hooks branching out, and plenty of open beige space between them keeps the design airy.
Made by hand in Turkey, this kilim was woven from wool salvaged from older kilims and rewoven into a modern take on traditional motifs. At 9'2" x 12'3" (280 x 373 cm) and roughly 5 mm thick, it suits a living room, a dining table for six to eight or a primary bedroom. It weighs about 20 kg (44 lbs). With no pile to crush, it lies flat under furniture legs, and turning it around every few months helps it wear evenly.
The light ground and warm accents suit bohemian, modern farmhouse, Scandinavian and eclectic rooms, and they pair well with natural wood and woven textures. Because the motifs are scattered, the rug looks good from every side. Linen upholstery in oatmeal or terracotta, plus a few rust or mustard cushions, would echo its accent colors without competing. A relaxed, folk-inspired rug with plenty of color.
