Interlocking ogee and diamond frames in black and sand beige create an allover lattice on this kilim. Inside each frame sits a small four-petal flower or cross motif, and the repeat continues edge to edge with no separate border, giving the rug a crisp, tile-like look. The motifs alternate row by row, with sand flowers on black diamonds next to black hooked crosses on sand ovals, so the lattice seems to switch between light and dark as you look across it. Small notched details along the frames soften the geometry.
It was handwoven in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims and rewoven into this graphic lattice. The rug measures 9'2" x 12'4" (280 x 377 cm) and is about 5 mm thick. It suits a living room, a dining table for six to eight or a primary bedroom. It weighs about 20 kg (44 lbs). Its flat, pile-free surface keeps dining chairs gliding smoothly, and a rug pad will stop it from sliding on tile.
The high-contrast pattern fits modern, Moroccan-inspired, monochrome and transitional spaces, and it pairs easily with black accents and warm wood. Because the repeat is small and even, it reads well from any side of the room and suits both square and long layouts. Brass lamps and a terracotta pot add warmth beside it. A classic two-color design with a strong presence.
