9x12 Handwoven Multicolor Striped Kilim Rug - 51752

Bands of grey, sage, lime green, mustard and ivory stretch across this kilim, separated by thin black stripes and a few fine red lines. The greens grow stronger toward one end and the greys toward the other, so the rug shifts gently in mood from top to bottom. A single bright mustard stripe sits near the middle, and several of the grey bands are flecked with lighter threads, giving them a soft, heathered texture that balances the crisper black lines framing the edges.

It was handwoven in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims and rewoven into this fresh striped design. At 9'2" x 11'11" (280 x 363 cm) and roughly 5 mm thick, it fits a living room, a family room or the space under a dining table for six to eight. It weighs about 19 kg (42 lbs). Since it is a flatweave without pile, crumbs and dust lift off easily with a regular vacuum, and rotating it now and then evens out wear.

The botanical palette suits Scandinavian, mid-century, coastal and eclectic interiors, and it brings a natural note to rooms with plants and light wood. Grey sofas and green cushions both pick up its colors. A mustard throw or yellow ceramic lamp would echo the center stripe. A bright, cheerful rug for everyday spaces.
