9x12 Handwoven Multicolor Striped Kilim Rug - 51787

Horizontal bands of sage green, mustard, rust, dusty rose and sand fill this kilim from end to end. Several bands carry rows of small diamond motifs in ivory, brown and grey, and a few short blocks of contrasting color break up the stripes here and there. The palette is soft and earthy, with a gentle, sun-faded warmth. The diamond rows sit roughly every hand's width apart, so the motifs add a light, even rhythm across the stripes.

It was handwoven in Turkey from wool reclaimed from older kilims and rewoven into this banded design. The rug measures 8'11" x 11'9" (272 x 357 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, a flat profile that is easy to roll, move and clean around. It suits a living room, a dining area with a table for six to eight or a main bedroom. It weighs around 18 kg (40 lbs). Regular vacuuming without the brush roll is all the routine care it needs.

The mix of greens, golds and reds works in bohemian, eclectic, rustic and Mediterranean interiors. Rattan chairs, olive green linen and a few terracotta planters would draw out its sun-warmed colors. A relaxed, colorful rug that brings a lived-in warmth to a room.
