9x12 Handwoven Red Patchwork Kilim Rug - 51783

Crimson, soft pink and sand-colored blocks form a staggered checkerboard over the whole surface of this kilim. Many blocks carry fine horizontal stripes, and short black and ivory bars run along their sides like ladder rungs, adding small bursts of contrast. The pattern feels playful but stays well balanced. Four blocks span the width, and the deeper crimson squares appear at irregular intervals, so the eye keeps moving across the rug.

Woven by hand in Turkey, it was made from wool reclaimed from older kilims and rewoven into this patchwork layout. The rug measures 9'2" x 11'7" (280 x 353 cm) and is about 5 mm thick, so it lies flat and rolls up easily. It is sized for a living room, a dining room with a table for six to eight or a main bedroom. It weighs roughly 19 kg (42 lbs). Being pile-free, it sits low enough for most doors to swing over it, and a light rug pad keeps it steady.

Warm reds and neutrals make it a good fit for eclectic, bohemian, Scandinavian and mid-century rooms. Set it with a natural linen sofa, pale birch and a few blush or burgundy textiles to repeat its tones. A colorful rug that brings energy and warmth to a space.
